Easy Whole Wheat Bread


1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon fine salt (or 1.5 tablespoons course)
1 tablespoon sugar
3 cups of water (100 degrees)
3 1/2 cups wheat flour
3 cups white flour
Dutch Oven with lid-medium size
Parchment Paper


1 Add yeast, salt, sugar and water to a large bowl.Do not stir. Let sit 10 mins.
2. Add flours to bowl and gently mix. Dough will be sticky. Cover with a towel for 2 hrs.
3. After 2 hrs, place Dutch Oven WITH lid in oven. Turn on oven to 450 degrees to allow Dutch Oven to slowly heat up with the oven.
4. Place dough on a long piece of parchment paper and lightly flour.
5. Once the oven has reached temperature, carefully remove Dutch Oven and lid with oven mitts. Holding the parchment paper on each long end,, lift dough and place parchment paper with dough inside the Dutch Oven. Using oven mitts, replace the lid and place back in oven for 25 mins @ 450 degrees, then remove lid and bake another 15-20 minutes (bread should reach an internal temperature of 200 degrees for doneness).
6. Remove and cool on a rack for 30 minutes- 1 hour

**Note: For variety, you can add in sunflower seeds, Hemp seeds (omega 3's!), or raisins/craisens and/ or cinnamon .

**Bread may be stored on the counter for 5-7 days in a ziplock bag
